The Olympics are here!!!

The Olympics are here and the whole world is going crazy for the UK.  Enough about the credit crunch, forget about the fact that we have split second summers and take a look at why everyone else adores Britain. We have tons of amazing things about us that are worth celebrating, and are being celebrated by the millions of tourists that the Olympics are bringing in.

Food.

Bangers and Mash? Fish and Chips? All those lovely British foods that just go together effortlessly and should never be apart. When you’ve been on holiday in a hot country with funny food, there’s nothing better than coming home and going to your local for a pub roast! Our desserts are scrummy too! Hot sticky toffee pudding with melting vanilla ice cream, a delicious and British treat!

Music.

The Beatles, Adele, Queen, David Bowie, Oasis, Coldplay, The Spice Girls, Basement Jaxx and Amy Winehouse, musical legends that all come from our little island. All of these acts have contributed to music in amazing ways and will never be forgotten!

We won the Olympic bid!

Seb Coe worked so hard to bring the Olympics home way back in 2005, and now that it’s here, it was well worth the wait. With the 100 foot replica of Lord Voldemort battling 30 Mary Poppins and that fabulous James Bond skit featuring Queen Elizabeth II herself, the opening ceremony was the party of the Century!
