"These fantastic Money Pots have been used in Italy for over 2,000 years and their hand thrown design has remained virtually unchanged in all that time. There are examples of ancient Money Pots in British Museum. Tradition says that once the first coin is dropped into the pot, it must be fed until full, when it must be smashed whilst making a wish. Custom suggests that you replace the broken pot with a new one and spend the money saved on ‘good’ things. The pots are supposed to bring good fortune.
