Terramundi Pots

"These fantastic Money Pots have been used in Italy for over 2,000 years and their hand thrown design has remained virtually unchanged in all that time. There are examples of ancient Money Pots in British Museum. Tradition says that once the first coin is dropped into the pot, it must be fed until full, when it must be smashed whilst making a wish. Custom suggests that you replace the broken pot with a new one and spend the money saved on ‘good’ things. The pots are supposed to bring good fortune. If you aren’t in the mood to smash the pot to pieces, then you should be able to break the top off and use these beautiful pots to put a candle or plant in. All the Terramundi Pots are still hand thrown in Italy and then hand painted in London. They stand between 17cms and 19cms tall and can hold approximately £200 in mixed silver. Each pot also contains a separate fortune card to find when you open it. Whether you choose one of the fabulous colourful designs, or maybe you know someone saving up for a season ticket or holiday there is something for everyone including the Personalised Terramundi Pots where you can add your own message or name to the pot to create a truly unique gift"
